PASSANGER SERVICE RULES

Rules of Conduct for Passengers

To get the best experience out of a trip, below itemizes a list of steps to adhere to.

  1. Communication: Ensure that only trip related matters are discussed while on a trip. Resist from discussing personal topics as the driver may not be comfortable with such a conversation. Also, this is a way to ensure your security.
  2. Convenience: To have maximum convenience, it is required that you clearly specify the entrance number or detailed pick up point. This would aid easy navigation to the your location by the driver.
  3. Trip Ordering: At the point of booking a trip, check and verify that the pick up (point A) and destination (point B) address are entered correctly.
  4. Cancellation of Trip: As a passenger, you are allowed to cancel an order. However, it is required that the driver is informed about it. Also, ensure that the order is canceled on the mobile application even after informing the driver.
  5. Waiting Time: A driver is only allowed to wait for five (5) minutes for the passenger to board the ride for the trip. Hence, it is necessary that you are prepared before arrival of the driver. However, if for any reason you are late, please call and inform the driver. Note:- This might also require additional charges.
  6. Route Changes: Changing of route during a trip must follow a process of informing the driver ahead of time. Be informed that this might also cause a change in the cost of the trip.
  7. Cash Payment: Upon booking a trip and seeing the given cost, if you intend to pay cash and receive a balance, you need to inform the driver at the beginning of the trip so he/she can make necessary provision for that ahead of time.
  8. Smoking and Eating: You are strongly advised to desist from smoking and eating during the trip. As a passenger you are obliged to take good care of the drivers car so other passengers can also have good experience.
  9. Travelling with a Child: You are entitled to having a child with you on a trip. However, for better convenience please specify on the application upon booking the trip to ensure the driver comes with a child seat.
  10. Number of Passengers: It is required that the number of people in the car does not exceed the number of seats equipped with seat belts. If the number of passengers exceed four (4), it is required that you specify it in the comment section upon booking the trip.
  11. Luggage/Pet: Be sure to inform the driver before hand while booking a trip If you have any luggage or travel pet. This can be done from the comment/wishes section of the order.
  12. Misleading car Details: We require that you report any misleading information observed. If the car specified on the app while booking is different from the pickup car, please report by sending a message via support@ak-taxi.com with the trip ID. Also , you can report such event in the comment section of rating screen at the end of the trip.
  13. Dissatisfaction in Trip: If you are not satisfied at the level of service offered by the driver during the trip or you encountered a conflict situation, please try not to escalate it. You can leave a rating after each trip and also report the situation to our support team via support@ak-taxi.com with the the correct trip ID.
  14. Misplaced Item:If you loose an item in the car during the cause of the trip, please contact our support team via: support@ak-taxi.com with necessary details and we would respond to the situation.

PRIVACY POLICY

We at AK-TAXI understand the need for privacy protection hence, we are committed to protecting your privacy through the use of our readily available platforms (Website and Mobile App). Hence by accessing and using the website, App or Service, you consent to our collection, storage use and disclosure of your personal information. However, we are fully obliged as a company to ensure that your personal information are used for the sole purpose it was collected for.

(a) Types of information Collected

To provide the right service you need as an individual, we collect both Personal and Anonymous Information about you. These information are collected from through the mobile app and website using informed cookies. Personal information in this context are information required to identify you as a customer. These include: Full name, email address, phone number, payment method and profile picture. Anonymous Information in this context are information that can be used to contact you as a user that is not linked to information you provide that can do so. These include, information such as hours spent on the application, website, IP address, Unique device Identifier (“UDID”), mobile operating system, extent of data usage and more. Please be informed that some information are optional. Meaning you can decide not to provide all your information to us. However, this will cause a limitation in the features/services you can have access to .

(b) Voluntary information submitted

Data are collected from the user while using the website or the mobile app. These are information that you entered during the process of registering for the service. These include: full name , email address, payment method, bill information, phone number and profile information. Also, communication with all stakeholders of the system Riders and Drivers are done using information provided to form your profile in the system.

(c) Data collected through service

We collect three major data through the app service. These data are categorized into

  1. Location
  2. Contacts
  3. Transaction Data

Location data are forms of data gathered from use of the mobile device. These include: GPS coordinate of your trips such point A and point B data. Contacts data are data also accessed through the mobile data. This include personal address book contacts or the user. However, the application prompts the user to give consent to permission on the device at the time of registration. Transaction data in this context are data created while making transactions. These include: Date and time a ride is booked, distance of the ride, amount charged, Rides canceled and completed with appropriate date and time.

(d) Data collected via technology

We collect data from Agents, customers and intended customers who access the website. The information we collect include: hardware model, operating system, browser type, Internet protocol (IP) and domain name. From the mobile device, we also collect UDID, mobile operating system. We may also at some point correlate this information with other personal information we have about you. In relation with service data, we may also gather call data including the calls and SMS messages related to usage of the application. We also collect data via the use of cookies. “Cookies” can be described as small piece of information which are gathered while using a website. We also use session cookies which expire when the state of the browser is closed. We use both session and persistent cookies to provide a more interactive and worthwhile customer experience. In addition, our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) may also be used to collect personal information of users. Connecting our third party with payment platform such as Google wallet we can also get your personal information.

(e) Information provided by others

As part of data collection, we also collect Riders and Drivers data and share to one another, these include: rating information, postings on message boards etc.

(f) Personal information Usage

As company we are obliged to use and protect your personal information provided through our platforms. Personal information provided are used mainly for the following purposes (a) Administering of user account, providing support and maintenance on app, facilitate communication between Riders and Drivers, diagnosing technical and service related problems, provision of promotional materials such as news letter, promotional offers, and other marketing related information. We also use personal information to provide better opportunity and functionality, analyze and benchmark other companies, prevent security related issues and threats, perform accounting and audit.

(f) Personal information Usage

As company we are obliged to use and protect your personal information provided through our platforms. At some cases we may use Anonymous information of a user to improve on the experience of our application to offer better customer service. We might also use general data collected from users through the website using cookies to evaluate effectiveness of our marketing tools and strategy for the sole purpose of improving service delivery.

(h) Mode of Sharing and Disclosing Information

We are fully aware of the need to keep your information confidential and with this, we would not rent or sell your personal information with third parties. Information gathered from you will be used solely for the purpose which it was collected for.

(i) Riders and Drivers

Our riders information are share with drivers and drivers information are shared with riders to enable smooth provision of rides. However, these information are shared at the point of negotiating a transaction.

(j) Service Providers

Personal information provided to use by users are also shared with third party users such as vendors, consultants and data processers who work with AK-Taxi. Some of these are company who provide email services, hosting of website and more. To ensure compliance with to data protection, we select companies with high standards and compliance with terms and conditions of our privacy policy.

(k) Compliance with Laws, Law Enforcement and Safety

While we are obliged to protect your personal data, we might disclose such information collected if required by law enforcement agencies or any legal process. We may also decide to share personal information for the protection and safety of Riders and Drivers.

(l) Your choices

When you sign-up as a rider, you have automatically consented to receiving of notifications/updates from the app. However, we provide a flexible communication option wherein as a rider, you can modify or opt out from receiving messages sent. We might also send administrative emails as it concerns operations In the website, mobile App or service.
As a Rider you also have the right to adjust your personal information in the settings panel of the app, website or by contacting use at support@ak-taxi.com. However, we might be required to maintain some personal information before approving your request. When you request to delete any information, the data will be deleted from our active database and not our archive. We may retain your records In our archive for fraud or similar detected cases. Note that personal information we disclose to third parties cannot be controlled by us.

(m) Age Group

To become a Rider, you must be up to 18 years of age. The app and website is directed to restrict persons under the age of 18 years. However, if we observed that a Rider is under the age of 18 years, necessary actions will be taken to remove that individual including his or her personal information from our system.

(n) Security and Data Retention

In bid to protect your information, we setup a team of reasonable administrative staff to protect unauthorized access to your information. We would also make sure we follow up on any disclosures, breach of security, integrity, confidential, or electronically stored personal data. Collection and security of your personal information is In line with Privacy Policy and applicable laws and regulations.

(o) Third Party Website

We may from our website provide links to external websites. But we disclaim any breech of privacy practices that might be encountered. This include information collected by us from our platforms (website, Apps). Knowing this, we suggest you read the privacy policy of these other websites before using them.

(p) Changed to our privacy policy

As a company, we reserve the right to make modifications to our privacy policy. This can be done with or without prior notice to the public. However, this would not affect the use of your personal information out of the above stated privacy policy. You can share your thoughts via support@ak-taxi.com . if it is a case of violations of rules by the driver please send In necessary information about the trip and ride order, we would investigate and take necessary action to ensure our platform is safe.
  3. 3. In the event where you misplaced an item during the cause of the trip, you can send an email to support@ak-taxi.com with approximate date and time , route of trip and car details (make, color, license plate) and we would take necessary action to see that you recover your item.

DRIVER HELP

  1. How do I take an order

    Navigate to your driver mood and you will find a list of orders to choose from. You can click on any to review in detail the estimated distance in Kilometer, amount and time before accepting.

  2. How to easily win an order

    Ratings determine how well you can win an order. To easily win an order, ensure that you have good ratings on your trips.

  3. The Application does not make out going calls to orders

    In such event, re-install the application and also ensure your device is configured to give access to the AK-Taxi application to make calls.

  4. GPS is enabled and the App is asking for GPS to be enabled

    In the event where your device support two sim cards, you will need to re-arrange the sim card with the number registered in AK-Taxi to be in the first slot. Also configure your device to select high GPS accuracy in the GPS settings.

  5. The application constantly ask for your phone number
